Idle Air Control Valve 50638

I was cleaning the garage and I found this unused Idle Air Control Valve (IAC Valve) which I purchased about 3 years ago at the local autoparts store. I purchased two actually because there was a discount thinking it the future this tiny engine part is going to give away sooner.

During that time my car was consuming more fuel than usual and idled irregularly espcially during a stop at a stop light. It took me awhile to get this thing figured out what it was, thanks to a few help I received from the only forums I was guided through some picture then I was enlightened. This thing was sitting on top of the throttle body.

From what I've read the IAC valve is used on fuel-injected engines; carburetted engines use similar device but is called idel speed control actuator (created from wikipedia.org).

So, after I successfully installed the IAC on top of the engine of my 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX original 2.0L EJ205 (rebored at 2.3) the engine ran smoothly, fuel consumption back to normal and I was happy. 6 months later winter came and road became frozen solid. Black ice on top of the sloped concrete road. Unfortunately, the cars' AWD was no match and down I went sliding and was stoped by a fire hydrant. The car was totaled and now here I am cleaning the garage of any 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX parts, items I have.

This item is currently being sold on eBay for less. If you're interested you may click here to and hope its still for sale you may also see the youtube video if you wish to do so here.
